The Kitab al-Tabikh, an old Arabic literature, is where this mystical beverage is first mentioned ( The Book of Dishes). Most of the name of this coffee is unknown. Some claim it's because the beans are darkly roasted, while others assert it's because it was initially offered for sale in Yemen's port city of Mocha.
